Education Major, EdS, School Psychology Concentration

School Psychology offers graded, sequential, and hierarchical training in research, assessment, consultation, and intervention. The program prepares professionals who work collaboratively with educators, administrators, parents, and children to promote learning and development in general education students and students with special needs. Students enrolled in this program will complete core coursework in school psychology, applied practica in local schools, and a 1-year internship. Prior to graduation, students must complete the PRAXIS exam in school psychology.

Admissions Standards/Procedures

Admission to the concentration is based on holistic review including GPA at all collegiate levels, a written statement of interest and goals, and professional references. Prior graduate work will be examined on a case-by-case basis to determine if it can be used to satisfy some course requirements for the EdS concentration.

To complete the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) verified course sequence, students must complete SCHP 515 and SPED 501 as additional classes.

Students must pass the PRAXIS exam in school psychology.
